Native American Beaded Necklace with Deerskin

Native American Beaded Necklace with Deerskin
Item# 604

Native American Beaded Necklace with Deerskin This necklace, an original creation by Native American artist Pauline Kothman, continues a long tradition and combines a variety of elements from natural sources which symbolize the earth and the past eras experienced by California Native Americans. The assortment of glass pony beads hearkens to the days when beads first came to their culture by way of trade and subsequently became a source of intricate and expressive designs. In these creations, the beads are combined with turquoise, pine nuts, cedar berries, and deerskin ties to make a meaningful and attractive accessory.

The necklace is 29" in length, and it makes a unique hatband as well.

Note: Due to variations in availability of materials, necklace on hand might vary slightly from photograph.
