Toys / Games

Because interned families could bring only what they could carry, familiar toys and games were left behind with relocation to Manzanar. However, the camp provided a toy loan library where children could check out and return items to play with, and families were allowed to purchase toys through the camp store.

Most of the toys and games offered in the Manzanar Store are reissues of games available to children in the 1930s and 40s, and their popularity remains strong to this day with kids of all ages. No batteries required, just imagination!
